In this ICT project, I enjoyed making an album and single cover because I got to use Photoshop for a first time and learn new techniques however, I didn't really enjoy making the music video because I didn't think we did much as a group as we just recorded and used an editing app. We did get to use windows movie maker in the end but they all looked quite similar to each other.
I found the most challenging in making an album poster because we had to use our mind to use Photoshop with tutorials and I got to learn new stuff like filling a section of your choice with patterns or colors and making our first album and single cover as I had to continuously restart it because I had to make the work look more professional.
I would change on how we presented our work as a team in front of the class as we spoke what was on the PowerPoint but not what we actually thought of it individually. We could also include awards we got. If we did this the teacher would have got more of an insight on our group and not just was a PowerPoint says. We did all talk in the project but we didn’t really say much, making the presentation short. There were some that forgot to show their presentation but by justifying their opinion resulted in making theirs better than ours.
In this project I learnt how to be more open with my ideas, gaining confidence and to listen to others to combine with my thoughts. I learnt how to keep my work very systematize like when we made the poster, I looked up other tour posters and used it create mine. I included what was on their tour poster to mine like dates and pictures of the artists. Overall, I found this project very exciting as we were able to make a new star(s) that could have its own style of music and what type of audience it is made for like mine was for teenagers and our type of music was: pop. We made up our own names for our songs on our album on the other hand; we included some little mix’s song as they were the inspiration to our group- the kind of artist we intended to create similar to.
I think this project would be very good for another year group as they learn how to use other ideas and work as a team. It also makes your more organised with stuff by placing it on a blog and an easy way for teachers to see how you are doing. I kind of enjoyed using a blog because you had to produce a lot of your thoughts and keep much updated on what you did. However, it got a bit annoying as we had to make persistent updates on everything we did, in which I would prefer in just making a big evaluation on what we did at the end
To conclude I would rate my experience in ICT as 8- It was enjoyable but I think we could of improved on the music video and my rating would of improved by making it separately with our phones but using the same shots to add more effects so this could improve our understanding of movie maker, we could of added more to our power point presentation as it was done but much more could have been added.
